To make a fine washing Powder.
Take four ounces of the flour of French barley, two ounces of the oil of sweet almonds, six drams of benjamin, and a handful of the leaves of white roses, half an ounce of sperma-ceti, one ounce of white chalk beaten to a powder, and a quarter of an ounce of white tartar; one scruple of the oil of cloves and lavender; mix all these together, then beat them to powder in a morter, and keep it in a box to be ready when you wash your hands.
