To hide deep marks made with the Small-pox.
Boil an ounce of sperna ceti in a pint of malmsey, until it is quite dissolved, then put to it the juice of a house-leek and that of plantane leaves, mix with them half an ounce of peach-kernels, and when they are all properly mixed, let them be let to cool, strain off the liquor through a fine cloth, and when you rub the face with it, let it be warmed gently in a cup.
