To soften the Lips.

Take an equal quantity of fresh butter and fine virgin wax, put them in as much rose-water as will cover them; put them in an earthen dish over a slow fire, and when they are melted thoroughly, let them be put into an earthen pot to cool; a small bit of it rubbed over chapped lips, will soften them and make them quite easy and agreeable.
